For tennis star and coach Rennae Stubbs, “love all” isn’t just a tennis term, it’s a life philosophy.

Stubbs — a Grand Slam winner and coach to all-time greats like Serena Williams — teamed up with e.l.f. Cosmetics and PEOPLE to give a pep talk about how she makes the best out of every situations, whether a win or a loss.

Applying some of e.l.f.’s Primer-Infused Matte Blush in “Always Rosy,” the athlete-turned podcaster (she hosts the Rennae Stubbs Tennis Podcast, which has already hosted guests like German player Andrea Petkovic and features Racquet co-founder Caitlin Thompson as co-host) shares how she turns every negative into a positive.

“The one thing that I really try and focus on on a daily basis is seeing the glass as half-full, not half-empty,” she tells PEOPLE. “So in other words, trying to see positives rather than negatives in life.”

Originally from Sydney, Australia, Stubbs, 53, has taken home titled in doubles in tournaments across the globe, including at the Australian Open, the US Open and two Wimbledon titles. She’s also the holds the record number of doubles titles in the Women’s Tennis Association, with 60 — the highest of any Australian woman.

Despite her great career successes, the coach and former Olympian is no stranger to challenges. When she is confronted with them in any aspect of her life, including “work, relationships, whatever it is,” she takes things one day at a time.

“If you can try and find one thing every day that you did just a little bit better than you did the day before, or you tried to do it a little bit better than maybe you did yesterday,” she says, sharing advice about what she concentrates on to make the best out of a bad situation all while applying some of e.l.f.’s Lash Xtend mascara.

” ‘Did I concentrate on the one positive rather than the one negative?’ ” she asks herself, preparing to apply some of the brand’s O Face Satin Lipstick in “Pleased”. “Throughout the day, you’re gonna find passion for what you do, you’re gonna enjoy it, you’re gonna be the happiest one in the room, and frankly, the happiest one in the room and the person that always brings great energy is the person that people wanna be around.”

“A great lipstick, a great attitude, and you’ve got this,” she finishes.
